How I got into painting and decorating

My career began with a time served four year apprenticeship which gained me a City and Guilds in painting and decorating. I then worked in the painting and decorating industry for over 40 years, undertaking domestic, commercial, shop fitting and exhibition work. I even helped to decorate the penthouse at the Dorchester Hotel in London for the Sultan of Brunei!

Specialising in Eco Paints

About three years ago I developed an allergy called Rhinitus - a form of hay-fever but triggered by chemicals. This inspired me to search for a solution and I discovered Ecos Paints, a company specialising in non solvent paints and endorsed by Allergy UK. It was then I decided to specialise in environmentally friendly paints and other eco decorating products like wallpaper - all manufactured from reusable resources.

But I’m more than just an eco decorator. I have been a lecturer in painting and decorating for five years, teaching people of all ages how to paint correctly. So I also provide a home tuition service for the enthusiastic home decorator. Visiting you at home, I share my skills to teach you the best methods of painting and decorating your home in an environmentally friendly way. This costs £40 per hour plus transport expenses if you’re outside Nottingham.
